About Me(n)tal-Meltdown

Me(n)tal-Meltdown was started one fine, cloudy day in July 2010 with the primary goal of being an outlet of reviews, musings and cartoons as written and drawn by one K. Ann Sulaiman. Because of her immense desire and love for metal (heavy, doom, death/doom, folk and so on), the blog itself is mainly focused on this vein of music; it holds an eye to keep track of releases both new and old and offering commentary which is neither trite nor pushing a load of condescending rubbish down your way.

Of course, you already knew that from the name.

Why the name, Me(n)tal-Meltdown?

I was looking around for a name that would help give an idea of what I wanted to do with this blog, and since I don’t consider myself too flashy it had to be one that was flippant and amusingly self-deprecating. Hence, with nods to Judas Priest – “Me(n)tal-Meltdown”.

What kind of rating system do you use?

I started off with Terrorizer’s Wretched Spawn section, before reaching out to other places.

Look for me on Invisible Oranges, Planet Mosh and Metal-Rules as well as The Birmingham Observer (local newpaper).
